Mucomucil Vetnil Expectorant Syrup for Dogs and Cats 50ML
Mucomucil® Syrup is a mucolytic, indicated for dogs and cats that present respiratory pathologies characterized by the presence of mucoid and mucopurulent secretions.
Carbocisteine is a synthetic derivative of cysteine. Its mechanism of action as a mucolytic agent is based on its ability to induce mucus thinning by preventing the formation of the mucin fibril network, an important structural component of mucus. In fact, carbocisteine restores the balance between sialomucins and fucomucins by stimulating the intracellular activity of sialyltransferase, restoring the viscoelastic properties of mucus. Mucolytic expectorants reduce the viscosity of respiratory secretions, facilitating their elimination. Carbocisteine increases chloride transport across the airway epithelium, which contributes to its mucoregulatory action.
HOW TO USE
To be used orally.
• Dogs and cats: Basic dose of L-Carbocysteine: 10 mg/kg of body weight, twice a day. This dosage can be represented as 0.05 mL/kg of body weight, twice a day. The duration of treatment depends on factors related to the pathology and can vary from 5 to 15 days.
Note: Each measuring cup in the 50 mL presentation contains 0.2 mL.
